War cemeteries in India’s Northeast located in Kohima, Imphal, Digboi and Guwahati have over 3700 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War.  Apart from family members of World War II veterans, these cemeteries are now attracting tourists looking for stories of historical events.  Maintained by Commonwealth War Graves Commission these war cemeteries of the region have huge tourism potential.
