Chandrika Dixit, better known as Delhi's "Vada Pav Girl," has become an internet sensation. Her journey, filled with both struggles and success, reflects the changing landscape of street food vending and the power of online virality.

Chandrika Dixit's journey to becoming Delhi's "Vada Pav Girl" wasn't an easy one. Her story begins away from the the streets, working at the popular Indian fast-food chain Haldiram's. However, life took an unexpected turn when her son caught a severe dengue fever, forcing Dixit to leave her job to care for him.

With her husband working unconventional hours as a Rapido bike-taxi driver, making ends meet became a struggle for the family. It was during this challenging time that Dixit's passion for cooking reignited, inspiring her to pursue an entrepreneurial path.

Driven by determination and her love for culinary, Dixit decided to set up her own food stall in Delhi's Sainik Vihar neighborhood, specializing in the beloved Maharashtrian street food delicacy, Vada Pav – a combination of a deep-fried potato patty snuggled between fluffy bread buns.

This decision propelled her into the public eye, but not necessarily in the way she might have initially envisioned. Little did she know that this humble beginning would pave the way for an extraordinary journey, one that would transform her into an unlikely social media sensation 

Chandrika's path to online fame wasn't paved with just delicious Vada Pav. A video showcasing Dixit's struggles with local authorities went viral on social media.
